It’s a mild, safe, and green surfactant derived from glutamic acid (an amino acid from corn fermentation), lauric acid (a fatty acid derived from coconut oil), and sodium hydroxide. Like the other amino acid surfactants, Sodium Lauroyl Glutamate is an ideal ingredient trending in personal care products. It’s non-irritant, non-allergic, non-comedogenic, and resistant to hard water.

Sodium Lauroyl Glutamate is widely used as a primary or secondary anionic surfactant in toothpaste, facial cleansers, shaving creams, ultra-gentle Shampoos, and baby bath bubble lotions. It has stable foaming and cleaning ability in a wide pH range.
