It is derived from the amino acid glycine and coconut fatty acids, which are all from natural renewable sources. Glycine is the smallest amino acid, and it gives Sodium Cocoyl Glycinate a smaller and lighter charged hydrophilic head compared to all other anionic surfactants. This property makes it the least irritating surfactant.

Compared with other anionic surfactants, Sodium Cocoyl Glycinate also removes less intercellular cement lipids when applied, which makes it skin barrier friendly. It produces a pleasant creamy-feeling lather during washing. Products formulated with Sodium Cocoyl Glycinate are generally easy to rinse off. After washing, it can leave the skin with a clean, light, supple, and non-drying feel.
